HOP EARTH ROAD DATA

FROM MAP
TO MESH.

The project's public development notes describe turning road paths and elevation data into drivable geometry. That is different from embedding a consumer map product.

PUBLIC-DEVELOPMENT CONTEXT · REVIEWED 14 AUG 2026

Road data is only the starting point.

Public notes from the developer describe a custom tile system that processes OpenStreetMap paths into curves and combines them with terrain-elevation data, allowing roads and intersections to be generated as a player moves through a location.

  1. 01

    Road paths

OpenStreetMap path data is described as an input for road geometry, not as a claim that every road will match a navigation product perfectly.

  2. 02

    Terrain elevation

Elevation data helps the project place roads in a three-dimensional driving space; it also adds processing and generation complexity.

  3. 03

    Generated results

Because the road and intersection meshes are generated, current results can vary by location and version. Treat live observation as the final authority.
