Start with the controls that move a session forward.
The public game bundle currently labels WASD as driving or walking, with arrow keys also supported. Press H in the official game whenever this guide and the live screen differ.
W A S D
Drive or walk. The current help overlay says the arrow keys work too, which is useful if your keyboard layout makes WASD awkward.
F
Enter or exit a car when the live game makes a vehicle available. Do not substitute an older summon shortcut for this state-specific action.
X
On foot, the current client prompts you to hold X to summon a vehicle. In a car, tap X to reset it or hold X to return to the road. These are different states; neither prompt guarantees that the action will work before the world has loaded.
J
Nitro; hold it to jump with the car. See the J key guide before treating the longer press as a fix for an unloaded world.
M H
Open the world map with M; open Help and controls with H. The help screen is the quickest way to confirm a newly changed binding.
K L V
Full screen, pointer lock and camera shoulder. These change how the game feels, not whether a road, account or server is available.
Use the right recovery step.

Click the game first
If a key scrolls the guide page or does nothing, click inside the official game window before diagnosing a broken control.

Wait for the road state
Let the chosen area and road appear. If you are on foot and the live prompt offers a vehicle, hold X to try summoning one; use F to enter when it is available. A prompt cannot prove that map data or a session has loaded correctly.

Make one deliberate recovery attempt
While driving, use X for the current reset action; on foot, check the summon prompt instead. Open H if the player state is unclear. For persistent loading or graphics trouble, use the not-working checklist.
What about mobile?
The official help overlay describes on-screen movement, look and action controls rather than a desktop-keyboard equivalent. It also recommends a two-finger tap to enter or exit cars, gas and brake pedals for vehicle movement, and swiping on the right side to look around. Device support and button placement can change, so check the mobile controls guide and the live overlay before relying on a saved screenshot.
